Syrias Baath The Terrorists Sanctuary
by GILES Thursday, Dec. 04, 2003 at 6:54 AM

04 December, 2003 CLAO On November 30, 2003, the Associated Press reported Syria handed over 22 suspects to Turkish authorities Sunday in connection with four recent suicide bombings in Istanbul

The suspects, all Turks, reportedly fled the country after the attacks, which targeted two synagogues in near-simultaneous bombings November 15th and the British consulate and a British bank five days later. A total of 61 people were killed. The Council of Lebanese American Organizations (CLAO) would like to call attention to the obvious, that it is no coincidence these birds of a feather always fly back to roost in the nest created for them by mother Syria. Syria is the place where such murderous flocks hatched and nurtured for the purpose of terrorizing the world. It is only out of political expediency prompted by momentary world attention to its dirty deeds, that Syria has consented to hand over a few of its more expendable prodigy.

CLAO strongly believes that such Syrian tactics must be dealt with once and for all. The instability created around the globe by its terrorist sponsorship can no longer be tolerated. The Syrian Baath regime must have its wings clipped, as did its sibling in Iraq.

It only stands to reason that such a reckoning with this, a bona fide member of the Axis of Evil club, begin in Lebanon. It is there that Syria, while occupying the country over the years, has devised its plots, and engaged in terrorists activities designed at attacking US and Western interests and the undermining of the peace process. The list of Syrias atrocities and dirty deeds are well known and too numerous to list here.

CLAO resolutely believes that ending the Syrian occupation of Lebanon and sponsorship of free and fair elections, will signal the end of its reign of terror and without a doubt shrink Syrias ability to perpetrate its carnage against the free world and place it in the cage where it so rightfully belongs.
