dissendent crackdown widens to atlanta

harrassment spreads to atlanta as today the gbi first contacts loacl area actvist and anarchist jay welin's father, then telephones jay and as the coup de grace shows up on the doorstep of jay's buckhead apartment. the first call came at 12:53 pm today and the knock followed at 1:40pm. five plain clothes special agents arrived to inquire if jay was home, in fact it was jay who answered the door. when asked by joint terrorism task force special agent thomas h. mefferd if he could enter the residence welin firmly responded with "no". also in the apartmment at the time was another uglf organizer. welin proceeded to state "you will not enter my home nor will i answer any of your questions until i have lawyer present." special agent thomas mefferd coutered with" you are in no trouble or investigation, we just wanted to confirm you were not in boston and to let you know that some internet chatter has required us to follow up and confirm your whereabouts."

the gbi handed jay there business card then left as quickly as they had arrived one can only expect there will be more to come.

audio of the voice mail can be headr on the same post on imc atlanta
