The Pittsburgh Hands Off Venezuela Committee is a local organization in solidarity with the people of Venezuela and the Bolivarian Revolution. Come build the committee in to a broad organization of support for our Venezuelan brothers and sisters!

Until recently, the Hands Off Venezuela campaign in Pittsburgh
has largely been
built by the Workers International League (WIL) and
independent
activists. We would like to formally launch the
campaign in Pittsburgh as a
broad coalition of progressive organizations, labor
unions and the
Latin American community.
More and more, Washington D.C. is preparing an
intervention against the
Venezuelan people, threatening not just the people of
Venezuela but the
hopes and aspirations of the poor of an entire
continent. U.S. foreign
policy is once again threatening military intervention
(invasion). This
time the target is in America's "back yard". Already
they are busy
behind
the scenes in an effort to destabilize the
democratically-elected
government
of Hugo Chavez which is overwhelmingly supported by
the Venezuelan
masses.
This is an urgent threat confronting the peoples of
Latin America and
here
in the U.S. as well. On the domestic front we're
already seeing the
effects
of the Iraqi occupation - titanic deficits, the
gutting of social
programs, and the return of thousands of soldiers
physically and
mentally
scarred by the war. We cannot allow Washington D.C. to
continue these
policies, let alone in our own hemisphere.
We are currently contacting many local organizations,
and are working
towards a coalition launch meeting for the Pittsburgh
area. If you would like
to join the HOV coalition, please contact us at
hov_pitt@yahoo.com!
We hope to hear from you soon.
In Solidarity,
The Pittsburgh HOV campaign
