i got an email from food not bombs that people were heading to the new orleans area to set up open air kitchens-

to feed the people whose lives have been to hell and back because of hurricane katrina and the needed services and care blocked by the police, national guard, militia security forces,military personal, ect

so i set out to find a food not bombs kitchen outside new orleans we could get food supplies to. dry goods we needed in covington and baton rogue, la. so dry goods of (or monies puchase them ) pasta, beans, rice, potatoes, and coffee onions were collected from for the pittsburgh community food bank, east end food coop, quaker valley school, and lots of generosity by pittsburgh folk. funds were also donated to rent a van. a second caravan is being planned for mid-october. so i and krysitina, from pittsburgh food not bombs, will leave pittsburgh thursday, 9/15/2005 about noon.

we also hope to provide a first hand account of this natural and govermental disaster thru various medias.
