Anti-Racist Action spots racist fliers in South Oakland and goes into action.
Sometime in the early morning hours of Sunday Nov. 12th someone canvassed the diverse, multi-racial South Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh with assorted racist fliers. The fliers made various claims, such as inter-racial relationships with black men would cause white women to get AIDS, and claiming white people are a minority and must awaken and "fight back". Within a few hours, operatives of Anti-Racist Action spotted the fliers and went into action.
Residents of South Oakland had already torn down or defaced most of the racist fliers, but ARA destroyed the fliers that weren't gone yet and pasted fliers of their own denouncing racism and proclaiming Pittsburgh a "Racist Free Zone". Within an hour over 130 anti-racist fliers were posted in South Oakland, covering all of the racist propaganda.
We want it to be known that Pittsburgh is not a safe place for racist and fascist organizing. We will confront you on both the street level and the intellectual level. We will expose your lies for what they are, and counter them with truth.
Anti-Fascists are organized, trained, and ready to fight you. You will never have our streets.
