POG and CodePink counter military recruitment on Valentine's Day.

The Pittsburgh Organizing Group (POG) Counter Recruitment and Anti-Militarism project co-sponsored a Valentine’s Day picket with CodePink Women for Peace on February 14 at the local recruiting station with the theme, “Don’t enlist, stay and kiss; that way, everybody makes out!” Nearly 50 people gathered in front of the station along Forbes Avenue in Oakland on the sweetest day of the year to continue resistance against military recruiting. CodePink handed out toy soldiers with messages such as “kiss don't enlist,” “make love not war,” and “arms are made for hugging” to remind passersby that Valentines Day is the perfect day to spread the message of love and peace, not war and aggression.
