Micheal Moore wins Oscar, speaks out against War

Michael Moore wins Oscar for Best Documentary ("Bowling for Columbine"): he brings all the Documentary nominees on stage to "stand in solidarity" against the war. Says that as documentary filmmakers, they like non-fiction...calls Bush a fictitiously-elected president, leading a war based on fictitious reasons. The audience responds with loud applause, but also some boos and hisses.

If anyone recorded the clip, please upload it.

In addition, one of the actors from "Y Tu Mama Tambien" said, "If Frida were alive, she'd be outside protesting the war" (when he introduced a song from the movie, "Frida"). Susan Sarandon was surpisingly silent...

All I can say is that Michael Moore's acceptance speech at the Oscars was one of the best things I've seen. It reminds me that there are so many others out there disgusted at what's going on and who want peace.

M Moore is a hypocrite
by Say What? Thursday, Mar. 27, 2003 at 11:07 AM

...So he says Bush lives in a ficticious world? Perhaps his comments would hold more weight if he practiced what he preached. Monsieur Moore himself has some issues with determining reality from fantasy.

Huh?
by Disco Rick Sunday, Mar. 30, 2003 at 5:58 PM

Michael Moore has lost touch with reality. Backstage at the Oscars he urged reporters to "tell the truth, I got a standing ovation and only like five people were booing."

Roger Ebert tried telling him that it was more than five people, but Moore insisted that the additional boos were people booing the original booers.

LOL.
