Teach-In at Project 1877 on Western Media and Islam

On Friday, April 25th, O.P.T.I.C.S. (Organizing Pgh to Increase Community Solidarity) presents: Fullbright Scholar Rashida El Diwani, who will discuss and examine the coverage in the western media of events, issues, and concerns surrounding the Islamic world.

We all know just how true it is that the mainstream media has a long history in manipulating, (or attempting to manipulate), its viewers. Come hear Rashida place into perspective how Islam and the Islamic world is manifested by the media into something that it's not.

Rashida will be accompanied by guest speaker Kate Daher of the Pittsburgh Palestine Solidarity Committee.

WHEN: April 25th at 7:30 pm
WHERE: Project 1877 4805 Penn Ave (Cross St. of Mathilda)
