BACK INTO THE STREETS!! : WHERE ARE THE ANTI-WAR PROTESTS!!?
by J Anderson Friday July 18, 2003 at 03:23 PM

More and more attacks on U.S. soldiers confirm that we are headed into a long guerilla war. Wives, mothers, girlfriends, children and others are losing their loved ones. WHERE ARE THE ANTI-WAR PROTESTORS!!?

Every day more and more information comes to light about the lies and manipulation Bush, Condaleezza, Rumsfeld & Co. used to justify the U.S. invasion of Iraq and the subsequent—NOW INDEFINITE—military occupation and oppression of the Iraqi people.

Every day more and more attacks on U.S. soldiers confirm that we are headed into a long guerilla war. Wives, mothers, girlfriends, children and others are losing their loved ones. The government is not even releasing the figures on the numbers of maimed and seriously wounded soldiers, quietly evacuated from the scene. The top British weapons expert has been found dead—permanently resigned—or ‘terminated with extreme prejudice’—in England!

U.S. Soldiers are calling for the resignation of the Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld!! And this is being shown on the mainstream corporate evening news programs! A MAINSTREAM Democrat presidential candidate says that there are grounds to impeach Bush if he led America to war under false pretenses.

And yet every day goes by WITHOUT anti-war, end the occupation, bring home the troops, impeach the President, whatever, demonstrations in the streets DEMANDING AND END TO THIS OIL-&-CORPORATE-INTEREST-SPONSORED WAR ADVENTURE!!

WHERE IS EVERYONE!!!???

HAVE WE ANTI-WAR PROTESTERS JUST ROLLED OVER???

THIS IS THE REAL WAR!! THAT OTHER STUFF WAS JUST THE PREGAME FIREWORKS: CALLED “SHOCK AND AWE”!!

ANTI-WAR DEMONSTRATORS NEED TO TAKE ACTION NOW!!

WE NEED TO GET BACK INTO THE STREETS NOW!!

BECAUSE THE WAR IN THE STREETS OF IRAQ IS GOING TO AFFECT US ALL!!

We can’t wait for the major organizers. Where is International A.N.S.W.E.R.? We need to put a pin in their butts! (I say appreciatively and respectfully.) We can’t wait for the big wheel organizers to turn. We need Code Pink! We need even just a group of you and your friends and your kindred spirits. Let’s call for and begin with 5:00PM commuter demonstrations – in each of our communities –at major commuter stations.

BUSH SAID, “BRING IT ON!”,…? LET’S DO IT!!!

True Civil War: Civilized?
by BraveNewWorldOrderFighter Sunday July 20, 2003 at 06:21 PM

I've been wondering the same thing--Where is everybody???
In May, I leafleted one day in Market Square with my own compiled list of Ten Verifiable Facts, Any One of Which Is Sufficient Cause To Impeach the Current Occupants of the White House.
I handed out about 300 of these flyers, which included sources (one, regrettably, an error). I received three emails in reply, one in support and the other two of a personally insulting nature.
Just one of those facts dealt with the outrageously illicit war against Iraq. (By the way, I also squawked when Clinton tried his hand at imperialism because I thought it was an attempt to divert attention from Monica and the activities of his penis.)
The other facts begged difficult questions about the events of September 11.
Where is everybody, indeed?
I've been in online chat rooms most every night since March of this year, trying to wake up my fellow citizens to the increasingly obvious fact that WE HAVE BEEN TAKEN OVER, BY OUR OWN.

where in the tmc? where is pog? the time is definitely right...u.s. soldiers are dying every day, bush and blair are actually being questioned and the corporate media is actually publicizing it.

there is an actual feeling in the air right now that ordinary people can feel...and they even question what has happened. the things that we have been talking about all along are now actually being discussed in the mainstream.

nobody cried when the bombs fell, and the citizens of iraq died,

but now soldiers who thought they were freeing iraq and protecting the american people are realizing that this "war" was not thought out and they wonder why the people that they "liberated" are the same people that are killing them.

the public wants answers from the government,
occupation is not liberation...lets get back in the streets.

Pittsburgh needs a strong show of political dissent. We need a march, we need to be heard. More people than ever are opposed to the continuing occupation of Iraq and the war @ home (Patriot Act, police state, etc)

We need new chants, we need drums, instruments, we need to make some noise, we need pamplets, flyers. We need a show of unity. Who is with me?

Yes, I agree, we need action soon. People outside of the organizing circles sometimes fail to realize how much planning is involved in a simple one day rally/march type of action. It is our experience that we need at the very minimum three weeks to successfully plan an event and get the word out.

As I said before, if you would like to get involved in our organizing process please visit our website and get in contact with us. Otherwise, just please realize that there is work going on behind the scenes.

Just Like I knew It Would

Look up my comments from earlier this year. Go ahead. This fits in from what I knew would happen. There are far more FAIR WEATHER "protesters" who will jump on any band wagon, as long as they are protesting something, then there are real activists. There are far more people who support the actions taken in the Middle East than there are people who do not like it.
AND, I really think, that the people who just don't think about the issue at all far outnumber us all. Tons of the people you seek to influence are too concerned with the ROLLING ROCK TOWN FAIR or YA GOTTA REGATTA or GOIN DAHNTAHN TO DA HAHRD RAHK CAHFFAY. Nobody here thinks, pro or con "middle east policy".
Good Luck.

I was raised better than to yell "I told you so". Apparently many of my comrades feel the same.

activism
by Me Tuesday July 22, 2003 at 10:23 PM

I have to agree that a march would be a great thing right now!!!!!! This is looking like the Vietnam war.
I also have to add that many of the people who were involved before have probably gone back home for the summer if they were in school.

Apathy
by 2 beers Wednesday July 23, 2003 at 07:01 PM

It never was about the war...it was about the left's hate and contempt for George Bush. And now you can not even organize a half decent protest. So why do you think you could organize a noticeable march. Keep up the good work this is funny.

Why don't you rally around a meaningful cause that we could all actually do something about ... like the arrogant editorial practices of the IMC editorial board. Rally behind Ewan Kenkesmearse and his unjust banishment from the discussion here. All Ewan wants is to be heard. And all you want is to be heard. But no one has taken away your voice, like what has been wrought upon poor Ewan by the unjust and arrogant IMC editorial board. It is so unfair. Raise your clenched fist against the oppresssion of thought that the IMC dictators have worked upon the IMC contributors.

FREE THE IMC OPPRESSED !!!! FREE EWAN KENKESMEARSE !!!!!
