ELF are animal killers
by Stan Reardon Friday, Oct. 03, 2003 at 11:06 AM

When ELF is resposible for animals' deaths, who protects the animals from ELF?

From the AP

SULTAN, Wash. -- An animal rights group's plan to free 10,000 mink from a farm turned deadly after many of the emancipated mustelids became cannibals while others went on a carnivorous feeding frenzy.

About 9,000 of the freed mink have been returned to Roesler Brothers Fur Farm since the Aug. 25 break-in, but keeping them alive has been a challenge.

Normally, only siblings are caged together, but workers cannot readily determine which of the recaptured mink are related, said Kate Roesler.

``The mink are fine when they're litter mates together, but when they're not they're quite vicious and they're cannibals,'' Roesler said. ``They do eat each other, and that's what we're battling.''

Days after the break-in, starving mink attacked a menagerie of exotic birds, a flock of chickens and even a Labrador retriever.

A few mink have been seen recently eating fish along local rivers and one turned up last week at a fruit stand on the edge of this town about 40 miles northeast of Seattle.

About 1,000 are still missing.

The Animal Liberation Front claimed responsibility and the FBI is investigating. No arrests have been reported.

Fur Commission USA is offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrests and convictions of those responsible

Proof of Quinn's Law
by Rose Friday, Oct. 03, 2003 at 11:14 AM

This is one of Jim Quinn's laws - Libralisim generates the exact opposite of it's stated intent. Ha, Ha, Ha.

What's "Libralisim"?

Ah, Jim Quinn, another moron with a communications degree pretending to have a clue.
He'll always be "Quinn & Bannana" from B94 in the 80's to me.

Fuck the fur industry
by 123 Friday, Oct. 03, 2003 at 12:07 PM

ELF = Earth Liberation Front
ALF = Animal Liberation Front

ALF freed the mink. At least they (the mink) had a fighting chance. When you're in a cage your odds of survival aren't too strong. Fuck the fur industry.

The mention of Jim Quin is indeed laughable. I did not bother going to the war room site. The last time I was there was when that idiot Quin posted the reward for the identity of the person who tossed a brick thru the Recruitment Center window in Oakland back in January. I'm sure not to much has changed @ his site.

Quin is indeed a moron - I heard he's been chomping down OC's just like your boy Rush.

Another moron who thinks history happens in a vaccum.
It's funny to imply that the mink's freedom made them canninbals, not their condition in capitivity

"When ELF is resposible for animals' deaths, who protects the animals from ELF?"

Between the possibility of getting eaten by their fellow mink and the certainty of anal electrocution back at the fur farm, I figure any mink with an iota of sense would stake their coats on the ELF.

Whether the effect the released mink can potentially have on the balance of the surrounding ecosystem ["cost"] is worth bringing the issue of this particular form of animal suffering to public notice ["goal"] is more subject to debate. Especially when this can be (and always is) manipulated by animal industries and the media to make the animal rights movement look "bad" and themselves look "responsible." It's a bit like when activists enter egg factories to document the miserable conditions there and the owners accuse them of "upsetting" the hens... The real issue here is one of massive (in)human(e) exploitation of animal species for commercial gain, so let's get things in perspective here Stan and not pretend we give a damn about the animals.

Do you think some of you ELF (or ALF) guys could "liberate" a nice mink coat from Saks for me?

Hey 2beers, how about you liberate yourself another job so you quit spouting your usual non-sense here. You bore me to no end.

I'm sure it's getting cold in the unemployment line, but wearing a fur coat only promotes murder.

Actually

Wearing an ELF (or ALF) or Howard Dean For President shirt promotes murder (because everyone wants to kill the asshole in the shirt).

Unless the shirt says "Amnesiacs for Dean" or "Ronald Reagan, and Drooling Paperweights for Dean"
What's with the deanies, they scare this evildoer?

2beers - when are you gonna break down and buy a new set of glasses? Maybe all our boys in blue (who are still employed) could set up a coffee can for collections in the station? I'll throw in the first penny but it's gonna be a canadian penny.

I fail to see the parallel you have tried to draw between a movement like ALF or ELF (which I have noticed in all your uneducated posts you always mention both movements like you understand them or are knowledgeable of their actions.) and Howard Dean. Both liberation fronts are progressive movements. Dean has mistakenly been labeled a progressive. Howard Dean is just slighly better than your hero, the Cocaine Cowboy. But I guess (for once and I feel kind of sick writing this) 2beers we are in agreement Howard Dean is an asshole. Although I would tend to think his views on foreign policy would be closer to your own.

To use your own idiotic blue knight rhetoric: imagine how many people would want to harm someone who wore a 2Beers for president t-shirt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fur Coats
by minx Wednesday, Oct. 08, 2003 at 6:07 AM

It's always good to know that the very people who claim they are the one's "truly" for freedom want to tell everyone else what they can and cannot wear as clothing. Once again these marxists demonstrate that the freedom they desire encompasses only doing the things they have rubber stamped as being acceptable.

That's so true. Just consider the many freedoms these liberals and marxists have already robbed us of: child labor, the right to rape and harrass, slavery... And now they want to take our furs away. There's no saying what they'll hit upon next.

Re-writing history seems to be on the agenda to, I see.

For a fine example of child labor, rape and harrassment, and slavery, look no further that the Shining Star of marxism and liberalism -- the Soviet Union.

I love all of the ALF type people that I have known - they don't eat meat but they wear leather shoes and smoke cigarettes that are tested on animals. I love the hypocricy of activists both left and right.

SOF: are you crazy
by Tony M. Monday, Oct. 13, 2003 at 4:08 AM

"Just consider the many freedoms these liberals and marxists have already robbed us of: ...slavery..." - Wasn't it the Republicans and Christiansd who made up the anti-slavery movement? It was the southern Democrats who carried on their "country traditions" until the federal anti-discrimination laws. I'll give you the child labor, but what are you talking about with the laws against "rape and harrasment", as those actions have always been illegal. They are Assult and Battery respectivly. Not a right-winger but I know historical truths and I couldn't let you go unchecked.
