Anti-Semitism and Racism Find a Welcome Home in the Democratic Party
by Yassar Datsmibebe Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003 at 7:25 AM

Is it unreasonable to worry that anti-Semitism may find a place in the Democratic Party? Far from it. Indeed, it already has.

The Democrats, notably including Lieberman, treat Al Sharpton with all the respect a serious presidential candidate is due, despite Sharpton's history of anti-Jewish incitement, which Fred Segel (http://www.opinionjournal.com/extra/?id=110004192 ) described in a February 2000 article, pegged to a Democratic presidential debate at Harlem's Apollo Theater:

It would have taken no great effort for the reporters covering the Apollo debate to have walked across 125th Street from the theater to visit Freddy's Fashion Mart, where in 1995 eight people died in a murderous rampage inspired by Mr. Sharpton. . . .

He turned a landlord-tenant dispute between the Jewish owner of Freddy's and a black subtenant into a theater of hatred. Picketers from Mr. Sharpton's National Action Network, sometimes joined by "the Rev." himself, marched daily outside the store, screaming about "bloodsucking Jews" and "Jew bastards" and threatening to burn the building down.

After weeks of increasingly violent rhetoric, one of the protesters, Roland Smith, took Mr. Sharpton's words about ousting the "white interloper" to heart. He ran into the store shouting, "It's on!" He shot and wounded three whites and a Pakistani, whom he apparently mistook for a Jew. Then he set the fire, which killed five Hispanics, one Guyanese and one African-American--a security guard whom protesters had taunted as a "cracker lover." Smith then fatally shot himself.

Eight people died, and so evidently did the conscience of liberal Democrats. It was Al Sharpton who had the honor of asking the first question at last week's debate, held within hailing distance of the Freddy's massacre.

There is also a strong anti-Semitic presence on the campus left, which groups like the David Project (http://davidproject.org/ ) and CampusTruth (http://www.campustruth.org/ ) have made it their mission to combat. While professors and college activists are a numerically insignificant constituency, they do have an influence in setting the limits of debate.

Those who worry about anti-Semitism should also be concerned with the current mood of the Democratic Party. Not everyone on the Angry Left is anti-Semitic--indeed, some of the Angriest Leftists are Jewish--but a party that stands for nothing other than rage may find it difficult to enforce distinctions between legitimate and illegitimate targets of that rage.

Fortunately, at least one of America's political parties takes a firm stand against anti-Semitism and racism. The Associated Press reports from Bangkok, Thailand:

"President Bush on Monday personally condemned the Malaysian prime minister for his statement that Jews rule the world, pulling Mahathir Mohamad aside at an international economic meeting to tell him the remarks were 'wrong and divisive,' Bush's spokesman said.

White House press secretary Scott McClellan quoted Bush as telling the Malaysian leader, "It stands squarely against what I believe in."

But you just gotta love Reuters, which headlines the story "Bush Tells Mahathir His Jew Remarks Are Wrong." His "Jew remarks"? (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=564&ncid=564&e=2&u=/nm/20031020/ts_nm/apec_mahathir_dc_2 ). No institutional anti-semitism at one of the worlds largest news reporting agencies, now is there.

The roll call proves it
by footballkicker Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003 at 8:10 AM

That's correct, the Republicans in cheap suits you call Democrats have rubber stamped all of the Connecticut Cocaine Cowboy's anti-Semetic fatwahs and Crusades as well as the PATRIOT Act (most of which was drafted by the moderate Republican Clinton in '96)

Although the first cut and paste link seemed to focus on the decidedly acceptable hatred of Catholics.

Touchy Issue in These Parts
by Prodigal Yunzer Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003 at 8:49 AM

The typical Democrat voter of Pittsburgh is old and white, many descendant from immigrants from eastern and southern Europe. They love FDR and hate Republicans and management and Jews, just like their Mum and Dad did. I remember when Rendell was running that the mere mention of Rendell's Jewish heritage was condemned as anti Semitic. Here is why- old cranky yunzers standing in front of the voting machine trying to decide whether they hate Republicans more or less than they hate Jews would have caused massive lines at the polling places, and maybe some strokes.

The seething Democrats who all of a sudden love generals and dislike deficit spending can all agree on one thing though- they should be the ones to run everything. The only government that is being run responsibly in this area is the county, and the Democrats cry like babies when the incumbent mentions that his opponent was one of the Democrats who failed to act to fix Pittsburgh's problems. When does running ads complaining about ther other guy's negative ad become negative in and of itself? Does he have any other ads?

The Democrat convention will be a freakshow as usual, but the strident screeching haters will demand a bloodbath before the weight of union money crushes their candidate. Then a little touch of the good old approved African American quasi-church service time to heal, followed by the telethon. It should be quite entertaining.

Community defense vs. DNC invasion
by Bl(A)ck Tea Society Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003 at 2:13 PM
nodnc04@hush.com

In less than a year, our city will be invaded.

All the formal announcements have been made. All the intentions are laid out. Under their corporate banner they will close down our streets, arrest our people, flaunt their power, and expect us to quarter them in our home. In the name of democracy, they will turn our place of life and work into a police state for a week in late July. We are organizing. We will resist.

This is not about politics. This is about community defense.

Over two hundred years ago, the people of Boston sparked a war. A war of resistance against tyranny. A revolution. A conflict against the oppression of a foreign master and the domination of corporate power. When the Sons Of Liberty took direct action, it was against a multinational corporation. The act of property destruction against the East India Tea Company became known simply as the Boston Tea Party. By the end of the war, the king was gone, but the corporations were not. History has unfinished deeds. We intend to finish the American Revolution. We intend to carry this torch. The ringing of revolution was sparked in Boston before; we will do it again.

Preparations are underway to facilitate those who come to aid in defense of our city. Bring your friends, bring your affinity groups, bring your tools, bring your energy, bring your hearts, and we will provide all that we can.

From one coast to another, and everywhere in between: we call for a convergence. Come reap the seed that was sown generations ago. Come finish the American Revolution. Come defend Boston.

In solidarity and struggle, The Bl(A)ck Tea Society

The Bl(A)ck Tea Society is an ad-hoc collective of anti-authoritarians organizing in the Boston area and beyond to resist the Democratic National Convention. contact:

DEM CONVENTION IN PITTSBURGH?
by Prodigal Yunzer Friday, Oct. 24, 2003 at 9:33 AM

Ha that would be a hoot. Well, Dems have tried to run this city without any private sector jobs for the last ten years. This might be the perfect venue - shine a bright light on "THE PITTSBURGH EXPERIMENT". The only jobs "created" ( I love that conceit) in the last ten years were ones that moved here because they got waivers from paying the big tax bill the unfortunate captive businesses pay. So what good are they, from the standpoint of the tax eating Pittsburgh citizenry? Once anyone tries to bill them for their "fair share" its moving van time to Phoenix or Orlando. Maybe if we were allowed to open a factory that emitted more air and water pollution than a residential clothes washer/dryer we might get some actual tax paying investment here?
I suggest that we try to get NATO headquarters relocated to Pittsburgh. Brussels weather is just as crappy as ours is, and we have just about the same percentage of tax eaters to tax payers as Belgium does. The only problem would be all them funny talkin foreigners, but they will be in uniform so at least we won't have to see their crazy costumes much.

Maybe the 'burgh should market it's archaic Tammany Hall patronage system, ala colonial Williamsburg.

"Look kids, this is how a Northern Democratic political machine worked in the 1890's"

Leftists are the true racists
by U.S.S. Z-Mag Friday, Nov. 14, 2003 at 2:04 PM

"What has not ended is the resolution and the determination of the members of the United States Senate to continue to resist any Neanderthal that is nominated by this president of the United States for any court, federal court in the United States."

The above was from that beached whale Democrap Nazi's son Ted Kennedy, speaking of minorities.

But of course he'll get a pass, just like Robert Byrd, member of the KKK.
