we are opening an infoshop in northeast pa. we need help/suggestions.

Hello there!!
We are opening an infoshop in northeast Pennsylvania. We are looking for suggestions on how to start out effectively and keep the ball rolling. We are organizing benefits and potlucks, plus we are planning events such as workshops-diy things and all. WE have people who are going to silkscreen shirts and patches. We are looking for suggestions from your infoshop, what you have done, do�s and don�t�s,etc�.
Do you need a business permit in your city, even if you are �classified� non-profit??
