Palestinian Hate Knows No Bounds

Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher screams as he is assaulted by Palestinians while praying in Jerusalem's Old City December 22, 2003. Witnesses said he fell unconscious after the attack but Israel's ambulance service said he was in good condition after being taken to hospital for treatment. REUTERS/Ammar Awad

It is not at all about peace. It is not about oppression, unless maybe it is about the right of the Palestinians to freely oppress there own (or the Israelis, as they have done for so long through campaigns of murder and fear disguised as religious rite).
Something in the fabric of the culture seems to dictate a ghoulish fascination with death, torture, murder and Misogyny. It appears to be a culture mercilessly devoted to destruction and pain, its own and that of all that it sees or touches. In the rest of the world, at least most western cultures, a $25,000 stipend for a child would be a generous and welcome scholarship. To Palestine, the $25,000 stipends are the value placed upon the life of a child by the murderous PA and the former leader of Iraq, Saddam Hussein. There is no future when the children are taught hatred and the fundamental tenets of Shadaadah preach the acceptability and desirability of sacrificing ones own life so that others unlike them may die.
If a picture is worth a thousand words, unedited video footage is far more telling yet. This was demonstrated on December 22, 2003 as the entire world watched Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher humiliated, jostled, and pelted with shoes, until physically lifted off his feet and carried away from his frenzied attackers. His eyes betrayed vivid panic. Nothing could have more forcefully expressed what he had just experienced, when he attempted to pray at the Aksa Mosque on the Temple Mount, than the terror writ large on his face as the 68-year-old statesman struggled to regain his breath.
The fanaticism and hooliganism that greeted him at a hallowed place of worship could not be covered up by Egyptian attempts to play down the entire incident and ascribe it to a minuscule rabble. The visual record belies the spin from President Hosni Mubarak's bureau, as well as Maher's own pronouncements upon returning to Egypt, when he belittled the onslaught.
To sweep under the rug the hostility Maher encountered on Temple Mount is to distort the very reality which has so far frustrated all efforts to reach even minimal accommodation with the Palestinians not only to end their terror war against Israelis, but also to ease their own self-imposed hardships. It's a reality which defies self-interest and logic, but this makes it no less of a reality.
When Maher was violently accosted and branded a traitor, he came face to face with the frightening aspect of Palestinian intransigence and extremism. Those who continue to murder Israelis even if they thereby damage their own cause, are also those who assaulted Maher. They are not a marginal minority. They embody the situation Israel is up against.
Israel is pressured to make concessions by no self-appointed mediator more than by Egypt. Yet these same brokers refuse to own up to the implacable hate which Israel endures and which is bound to undo any compromise under consideration. Maher was attacked because of his "Israeli connection," because he dared conduct talks with the leaders of the reviled Jewish state. Again, the same clear consistent statement from the Palestinians it is not peace that we want, but rather the death of Israel and all who associate with Israel. If this is how Palestinians treat ostensible mediators, what can the Jews themselves expect? And if this is how Palestinians manhandle their boosters and comrades, what would they do to their Israeli enemies? If this is what's meted out to their fellow Muslim faithful, what would happen to Jews who attempt to pray at the Western Wall if the Temple Mount were turned over to Palestinian Authority control, as the Arabs, Egypt included, routinely demand?
For Egypt to pooh-pooh the episode is to display hypocrisy which calls into question its claim to honest-broker status. For Israel to paper over this ugly reality is to take existential gambles which may lead to national suicide. For the Palestinians not to address and refute this horrible display of unadulterated hatred is only to confirm that hope has been lost for those who would believe that a negotiated peace would ever be possible with this culture of deceit and hate.
What Maher met on the Temple Mount isn't the exception to the rule, it's only the tip of greater virulence. A recent poll among Palestinians revealed that 58 percent oppose even the Geneva Accord's formulations, dangerous though they are for Israel's continued existence. This extremism impelled the terrorists to rebuff Mubarak's cease-fire scheme. This extremism is born of unbridled incitement which Egypt regularly tolerates.
Its state media screens Arab versions of ancient blood libels and Jewish cabal calumnies. Egypt's policy is to bait Israel at any international forum (hence it continues to harp on the supposed nuclear threat from democratic Israel). Egypt makes no visible effort to close the tunnels from its territory through which weapons are smuggled to the terrorists it ostensibly opposes, in direct violation of its commitments made to US President George W. Bush at the Sharm e-Sheikh summit a few months ago.
Egypt hinders Israeli exports and uses its own system of criminal justice to imprison innocent Israeli citizens. Egypt withdrew its ambassador from Israel three years ago, thereby violating the peace agreement, which explicitly stipulates that ties between the two states do not hinge on the nature of Israel's relations with its other Arab neighbors.
As the Maher incident shows, all these bows to Islamic radicalism did not inoculate Egypt against attack, just as similar kowtowing did not protect Riyadh. The lesson is that Egypt must stop throwing bones and granting victories to the radicals and stand more squarely on the side of peace. The more Egypt lets itself be intimidated by the radicals, the more it will be attacked.
If Mubarak and Maher are genuinely interested in peace, they should campaign against such peace-impeding fanaticism. If instead they propose to abet, excuse, and cover it up, while redoubling their efforts to elicit concessions from Israel, they disqualify themselves as mediators.

I couldn't stand the hatred you have for palestinians and I couldn't finish reading your article. I find it difficult to understand your fascination in Europe: the Haulocaust occured in Europe, not in the middle east, certainly not in Palestine. If you want palestinians to become westerners, you better watch what you are asking for! That is not to say europe is Nazist. They had their experience and they seem to have learned from it. Whether you like it or not, Palestine is different. My family used to have Jewish neighbors before 1948 and they coexsisted piecefully. What you see now is a political strugle for freedom. Your Ahmad Maher was their to insure that palestinians have surrendered and accepted the road map. Surprisingly, that Bush's road map is specifically aimed at maintaining the struggle and the blood shed to serve Bush's war agenda but not piece or even close to piece. If you think that is in Israeli interest, then you can chant that clown Ahmad maher as much as you want. But you are mistaken.

The is fckd up man. All it seems you are saying is that the Pali's want to continue some bloody struggle. The whole fcking world has tried and tried again and again to give a peace plan that the Pali's accept then reject then start killing again. You seem to say that is was OK for the Palis to beat this Maher guy just because he wanted to help the peace plan. par for the course with the Palis. Violence is an acceptable negotiating tool. Hey, if you only show violence you only get violence asshole. Bush tried, the Norwegians tried, Clinton tried. But the Palis go in break the plan, kill a bunch of Israelis and then get all proud on everybody when the Israelis try to defend themselves or protect their people. You are sick man. Get a clue about peace.

You are so quick to call the orignial poster's statements *hate* that all you did was prove him right. No one seems to be allowed to speak about the Palistinian hatred unless they want the full wrath of someone like you brought down upon them calling them fascists, zionazis or some other apologist rhetoric. Why don't you try to answer some of his statements, like why is it that Palistinians find it acceptable to murder their own children. Why do the Palestinians so hate the Israelis that they are willing to murder young boys if it means that they might also kill a few Jews in the process? Why do other Arab nations fund the murder of these young boys by paying blood money to the families? Why, tell me please, why does Yassar Arafat find this all so easy to accept and promote?
Until you can reconcile those things do not even talk about anyone else's hate. The *struggle* could stop tomorrow. But isn't the *struggle* really about removing the Jewish state and not about peace for the people of the region.
Palestinian, you really need to wake up.

I am just an observer to these debates (or whatever the hell these are), with no personal interest (I am not Palestinian or Jew). But I have to say that the Palestinians and the Arabs are beset with a rather organic hatred that I do not think can be blamed on any person or culture other than there own. The Arab countries and their political and religious leaders preach hate, murder and anything but peace. And before you go off about some anecdotal reference to a hypothetical fundamentalist Baptist preacher in Backwater, Louisiana saying that the black man is descendant from apes or some equally stupid crap that everyone knows to disregard, you should remember that in the Muslim nations these preachers are often on the governemnt payroll. The Palestinian Authority even funds many of the most voraciously anti-Jew/anti-western clerics. Before you rattle back something about this posting having so offended you because I sided with people that you have already identified as haters not worthy of your recognition, please check out the article at this link: http://www.memri.org/bin/articles.cgi?Page=archives&Area=sr&ID=SR2403

Some paleskins are hateful by nature, and discriminate without remorse. For instance, IRVING is proud to prejudiced as he gleefully attacks anyone not a white, rightwing male. IRVING thinks that America's diverse races and cultures are a disease.
On the other hand, I'm the kind of paleskin who thinks that IRVING and others like him are idiots.

"Diversity" is a code word for the NeoNazi Left. It's a cutesy word that is extremely biased against white people and Christians and heterosexuals.
Anyone who uses the word "diversity" demonizes white people, and is a Nazi.
