Selective Service; volunteer requested; military draft

This notice came across my e-mail from the League of Women Voters today (August 10). Thought an issue of this magnitude should receive the widest possible net for potential applicants:

The League received an invitation from the Commander of the local Selective Service system to provide a volunteer to serve on the local Board. Training is required to make decisions regarding eligibility. There is no remuneration but reimbursement is provided for travel expense. The volunteer must reside in one of the following zip codes: 15203, 15210, 15211. 15226, 15226, 15227, 15228, 15234, 15236. Please contact the League office next week for an application. Phyllis
