by TINKU Wednesday, Jun. 22, 2005 at 1:32 PM

ZAPATISTAS CALLING ON ALL THEIR SUPPORT BASES TO DISCCUSS COURSE OF ACTION

THE ZAPATISTAS HAVE ISSUED A COMMUNIQUE IN WHICH THEY CALL FOR THE GATHERING OF THEIR SUPPORT BASES IN ORDER TO CONDUCT A CONSULTA, WHERE THE CENTRAL COMMAND OF THE EZLN WILL PROPOSE A NEW BUT DANGEROUS COURSE OF ACTION. THEY HAVE ASKED THE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL CIVIL SOCIETY AND OBSERVERS TO LEAVE THE CONFLICT AREA OR "STAY AT THEIR OWN RISK" FOR WHAT IS TO ENSUE.
PLEASE STAY TUNED AT CHIAPAS IMC, OR GO STRAIGHT TO THE ZAPATISTA PAGE: http://WWW.FZLN.ORG.MX
START NETWORKING AND PROPOSING ACTIONS OF SUPPORT WITHIN US SOIL. THIS COULD BE: DEMOS IN FRONT OF MEXICAN CONSULATES/EMBASSIES, LETTER WRITING, SENDING HUMAN RIGHT OBSERVERS TO THE AREA ETC ETC.
ORALE, RAZA. ESTEMOS AL TIRO.

I suggest also that everyone out there who can speak spanish fluently help with translating most relevant info coming from mexican dailies or the Chiapas IMC. If military action ensues, it would be quite important to send International Observers to the area. I think Pastors for Peace or Global Exchange can be good sources of information as to how to go about this.
Meanwhile, spreading the info word of mouth to everyone around us is also a good help.
