George, the stastistic was not meant to be taken seriously. However, since it may not be verified, I believe it is true. Most of the country does not support the war, and in this area, many people agree with the national consensus.

Back on topic: Quinn just reinforces the fascist sentiment on the airwaves made by distraught right-wingers who cannot take responsibility for their actions or have nothing else better to say, so they call people names. I listened to Quinn, like twice, and I have never listened again. There are people who will listen to the filth that is Quinn, but will not listen to Howard Stern. I would take Midget Mud Wrestling over glittering generalizations anyday.

THe truth hurts liberals. They are so damn self righteous that they are convinced that everyone else is wrong and everyone else should shut the hell up. How's that for respect for "diversity"?

Free speech is tolerating what you disagree with. This post suprises me, what with all the bitchin' the IMC does against censorship and the like.

I hate quinn too, but I'm not joining the call to have him dropped from the airwaves, I'll just listen to WRCT instead.

Wars aren't fought to gain the approval of three fourths of Pittsburgh
by Dominic Mayle Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005 at 11:25 AM

Why do you think that wars are fought to make you liberals happy? The majority of people that disagree with the war (if there really is one - it's not like any of the polls are truly accurate) do only because of the propaganda you people produce . It doesn't matter how many people disagree with it. You don't fight a war and then when it becomes unpopular leave just so you can be happy.

A majority of people elected hitler. A majority of people believed that the earth was flat. Just because you're in a majority doesn't mean that you are correct.

Liberals need to stop this mindless conspiracy rambling. It's farcical. Quinn has nothing to do with 'war profiteers'. Do you think he's also covering up the UFOs? Maybe his show is part of some twisted government mind control plot to sell organs on the black market, too.

The idea of liberals having intellectual discourse vanished after the 60s. Now it's just, we don't approve, shut him up! What is that? You claim to be advocates of free speech and bastions of tolerance. The only thing liberals will ever be tolerant of is liberalism. Everything else is just dumb, redneck, warmongering America.

Hiss-terical!
by Harry R Jenks Thursday, Sep. 08, 2005 at 10:02 AM

Any time someone opposes a liberal they go nuts! They are so used to being the only voice that they have forgotten that it takes two sides to have a debate. This is the perfect example of a liberal who would rather run around with their hair on fire than have a debate. The time when liberals could monopolize the media is over. It ain't coming back so get it over it ... you bloody flaming useless Liberal!

Blogs and talk radio have your number!

Just discovered this site while looking for Quinn and Rose's site (currently off-line BTW), and had to post... Do any Liberals out there suspect that Quinn's REAL paycheck might be signed by Richard Mellon Scaife? Their obsessions (Clinton, the "free" market, defense of big oil specifically and big business generally, Clinton, Clinton, Clinton, etc.) seem very frighteningly the same. I mean, c'mon, Quinn might make like $42K and change a year at his cheesy radio gig, so the guy has to support his Ryan Home lifestyle somehow. He just doesn't seem to have enough analytical ability to make even a seriously flawed argument.

And you criticize him for saying the same things!? At least he says something, not just everybody that I don't like is paid by an oil company like every single liberal says every single day.

Thank God that people don't actually buy this crap. People can be dumb but not this dumb. No wonder you lose elections.

Crappy Stats
by Scott Bowers Thursday, Sep. 22, 2005 at 4:33 PM

Check the election results, most Americans do not want to pull out of Iraq. Most of us know that pulling out before the job is finished would disasterous. These polls that you are sighting do not ask if we should pull out. They ask if we are happy with the way that the war is going. These polls show a majority of people not happy with the war. That is because that most conservatives, the majority of people in this country, are not happy because we are not being aggressive enough, and kicking butt. It is not because we want to pull out. Most of us are smart enough to know better than to do that.

Stop War
by Neville Thursday, Sep. 22, 2005 at 5:39 PM

We need to get out of Iraw. We are losing more soldiers every day. It is a failure like Vietnam. It will be a failure just like WWII would have been. Why America ever got into that war were we had absolutely no interest. Germany and Italy had not committed a single asault upon America or indicated any interest in America. We should not have been there to lose so incredibly many young men and women. We have lost 1900 soldiers in Iraq. Must we committ to lose more simply because our unlawfully placed political leaders want to win a war. All war is wrong. Just think, if we had never gone to war in Europe, all those innocent lives spared.

The insurgents in Iraq are the real freedom fighters, protecting their way of life. Thowing out an aggressor. Just as the German soldiers were the fredom fighters bravely giving their lives to protect their homeland from an aggressor and foreign occupying force. Just as the japanese had every right to kill as many Americans as they could to protect the noble imperial japanese society. All of thise could have been avoided if only Abraham Lincoln would have heeded the calls of the brave opposition to the Civil War and not attempted to forcibly impose the Union way of life upon the free and sovereign Confederate States. Nothin good ever comes from war. It is a lie to say that War can deliver freedom.

So, if 3/4 (a number you made up and state that you believe in simply because you think it is right) of Pittsburgh wants to abandon Iraqis who shed blood everyday for the right to have freedom of speech, then you think the 1/4 who disagree with you should be denied freedom of speech.
If that is your concept of freedom, then no wonder you don't care about people on the other side of the world who are sacrificing all for the right that you are so eager to deny 1/4 of Pittsburgh.

I'll use simpler words for the even dumber "radicals" (see "People too dumb to shower").
Most people do not care about your viewpoint. That is why you are labelled radicals. But when you start to revel in your label, and accept that you are a radical, then you have become conventional. You have become mainstream. You post on a chat website, children!
YOu will never gather enough public opinion to knock a radio show like Quinn's off of the air, since you do not hold enough clout. Face it, the majority of america is repulsed by shows like "HOward Stern" and they were able to use the FCC as a battering ram to force a financial decision by the radio company and Howard to part ways and actually charge people to listen to his show. Brillaint!
But you will not be able to get the same results with Quinn. He makes too much sense.

RESPONCE TO SCAIFE C...
9.jpg, image/jpeg, 720x492

I love you guys who, when confronted with people with whom you disagree, default to conspiracy theory. It never enters your mind that what you don't understand may actually make sense to so many people that it can be marketed successfully as an added bonus. The suggestion that I get my check from RMS is patently absurd. I don't need his money and I have never sought his money. Two years ago I signed a 7 figure contract with Clear Channel. Anyone who can find a check made out to me or laundered in any way to me by RMS or any of his foundations will receive a check from me for $10,000. By the way, I am very proud of making this much money and hope to make much more. I have worked long and hard to get where I am and have EARNED every penny. When I spend and invest that money I create opportunity and jobs for my fellow Americans. Unlike the government who has no self interest in regard to the disposition of these funds, I have a very specific self interest in them and do my best to direct them to wealth creating endeavors as opposed to "socially responcible" investments like giving another few billion to Africa so some socialist thug can put it in his pocket and tell "the people" he's holding on to it for them. I think you should all call my station manager and tell him to give me a HUGE raise since the more wealth I control, the better off it and you will be. See: Atlas Shrugged-A. Rand.

It's funny that talking heads like Quinn are really fond of playing 'hippie songs' as lead ins to reading off their White House talking points. Somehow Buffalo Springfield and Karl Rove seem like a bad fit, but Quinn's no thinker, he's a talker (and that Rose dude isn't even that much).

He resembles Gollum, dressed up as one of the Golden Girls.

Quinn and Rose
by Bonnie Towan Thursday, Nov. 02, 2006 at 8:40 PM

Liberals are the only ones who should have freedom of speech, right? Well, 60 of your liberals in Congress are members of the Democatic Socialists of America. That's right. Socialists. They all belong to the Progressive Caucus which used to have its website powered by this socialist organization until WorldNetDaily exposed them in 1999. Now they go with a .gov server. Go to the Democratic Socialist of America website and read their agenda and you will see Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the liberal agenda right there in print. This country is a beacon of light to the rest of the world. It is founded on FREEDOM. It doesn't need your socialism interjected = no freedom of speech. Quinn and Rose have every right to be there as does your liberal Air America. Stop trying to turn the land of the free and the home of the brave into a socialist state.

Are you lost?

Bonnie, I know they don't usually cover this on the hillarious radio shows that have programmed you, but anarchists and some other radicals despise liberals and air america, as much as they despise the hate radio we both enjoy for different reasons. I wouldn't listen to air america if you paid me, but my mornings much worse without Quinn's cheesy sound effects and silly song 'heads ups' and especially Rose's insane mega-church soccer mom worldview. Not to mention her talking about her son, David, all the time, making her the Kathie Lee Gifford of hate speech. Her racism is slightly tempered by her Christianity, but Quinn's free-market idolatry allows his racism free reign.

I like Quinn and Rose. They cut to the chase about what's going on in the world. They lend intelligence and perspective to world events.

Quinn doesn't have an original thought in his head. If you actually pay attention, all he does is read right-wing blogs on the air and cue up his bad 80's music and sound effects. He would read the Koran Das Kapital on the air if that's what Clear Channel paid him to do.

Learn

With no party affiliation I try to not get sucked up in all of the plots and talking points. I spend time listening to foreign news, reading independant research and try to draw my own conclusions. This doesn't make me right, but it does give me a different view on things in general.
What I find disturbing is that the left only screams, hates and trys to control everybody, wants bigger government and overall is pushing this country into a mix of socialism/communism.
The right does nothing, but gets blamed for everything.
Most of the people that post are just talking heads that must not be very educated as their remarks are usually wrong, biased or lies.
If you all took the time to learn I don't think you would be left or right, you would be more moderate and you would understand things like the scope of the war that we are engaged in, the crock being fed them over global warming and how wrong socialism is.
Wise up, it is almost too late and I see this country heading for an armed revolution that won't be pretty.

Turn the radio dial, get a life, a job, and contribute to society. You like the socialist way so much? Move to Cuba. Please.

The US is a state socialist economy. The only economic sectors that turn a profit are heavily subsidized. Agriculture, high technology, energy, pharmaceuticals, entertainment, etc.

I think that the people who can sit around listening to right-wing radio for 16 hours a day should go get jobs or go to China or Iran, where they don't have to worry about hippies and such.
