Below is a link to Freak Republic. It is how they are responding to the events in Pittsburgh. If you feel you need to chime in on this site, you should. In fact all of us should sign on and give them an earful. They will immediately ban you and take your comments off the site, but maybe their moderators should do a little work. If they are going to start calling for live ammo to be used against anti-war activists (Post #3, and that came from a guy who ever since Sept. 11 has been calling for violence against progressive people), then we can sleep on them - and they shouldn't sleep at all.

Gee, I better tell all the young mothers I see taking their kids to the museum and park to go run for the hills! If Oakland is a war zone, sign me up for war! This is suburban mentality at its finest, sheltered, paranoid cowards. I bet half of those redneck cowards on that site can't even find oakland if they had to. Fucking ignorant cowards, a disgrace to this fine city.

Okay, I just heard about this in an email I got. So I rushed right over to this site. I live outside of PGH, and I heard nothing about this. As a staunch liberal and activist, in my own right, I am outraged. This is absolutely unacceptable. I took the risk of having a politically-related heart attack and visited freerepublic. What a bunch of brutes. I am tempted to sign up, and just go apeshit. Here we have these "compassionate conservatives" advocating and promoting violence. Are these people fascists?! It seems like they are. I think they have been taking cues from Ann Coulter who said that liberals should be intimidated physically. Here is a comment: Oakland is out of control 24/7/365. I wouldn't go there for any reason today, and some 25 years ago, there were a number of great restaurants I enjoyed. Couldn't get me there today with 6 Marines as bodyguards. It needs nuking and starting over. Also, what is with these cretins assuming that everyone belongs to MoveOn.org? Are they this stupid that they only know one anti-war group?

Well, I signed up with the screenname used as article title here and posted on FREAKREPUBLIC. They just don't get it. I'm banned forever. My God how will I stand the scorn of my community, the ridicule of perverts and drug addicts, the vengence of ill educated boy kings, the wrath of overweight morons one tick away from meeting his imaginary friend while all the while disassociating with his gay child.? Why is it you delete the posts and revoke the priveleges of those who do when you disagree with their premise.? Are you so afraid that your transparant thinly veiled fascist approach will not stand up to ridicule. You have certainly taken a page from The Rove School of indoctrination. You should be ashamed to call yourself a source of information. You are merely a source of opinion and not very reliable or strong ones at that if that is your editorial policy. You allow the posters to make such comments as protestors should be shot yet you delete constructive criticism. Absolutely Amazing.
