On Tuesday, October 11th, the University of Pittsburgh's Africana Studies Department held a panel discussion titled "Hurricane Katrina: The Gentrification of New Orleans, after Katrina, Rita and other related issues." What follows is the panel's opening statements divided into four parts, and then a fifth part consisting of the open audience discussion and questions.

Panelists
Dr. Larry Davis (Dean School of Social Work, University of Pittsburgh)
Dr. Joseph Trotter (Professor and Department Head, Carnegie Mellon University)
Dr. Harvey White (Professor Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, University of Pittsburgh)
Of the five segments below, I recommend the fourth clip of Dr. White and the Q&A/discussion (which is quite long, but has some gems). In the comments section I will provide some suggestions for highlights of the discussion section, and highlights will be featured on a future episode of Rustbelt Radio.
