Student Farmworker Alliance (Coalition of Immokalee Workers and the Alliance for Fair Food) Days of Action Protest at Oakland McDonalds

Event Date: 10/27/2006 4:00 PM

Description: We are working in alliance with the Coalition of Immokalee Workers and the Alliance for Fair Food. Actions will be going on all across the country on that weekend. Our goal, in Pittsburgh, is to show McDonalds that we are here and we are not going anywhere untill the modest demands of the CIW are met. They are asking for a penny more per pound of tomatoes and an enforceable code of conduct.

We are trying to show people in Pittsburgh that sweatshops exist in the United States and that they play a role in the system as consumers. If you would like to learn more about the Student/Farmworker Alliance you can check their website or contact me.
