Trans-phobia in the LGBT movement!
6pm
In Front of East Liberty Presbyterian Church

This Saturday, Celebrate The Night and the Gay and Lesbian Community
Center will be holding an "All Womyn's variety show," to honor National
Coming Out Day. The only problem is, CTN is not welcoming all womyn.
Celebrate the Night has made it clear that they do not want trans-womyn or
sex workers to perform, but they are more than welcome to buy tickets and
be ushers. We, as trans people, sex workers, and womyn are welcome to fork
up the cash but not participate in the show. This is absolutely repulsive!

We understand and support the need for womyn to have their own space to
congregate, celebrate, and resist. However, how can we effectively
challenge heterosexism, sexism, patriarchy, and all forms of oppression if
we deny Transwomen access to womyn's spaces because of society's rigid
definition of something as complex as gender identity? How can we build a
movement to challenge these systems of oppression if we are excluding LGBT
people who choose to engage in a certain occupation (Sex work) because the
government labels it as immoral?

Saturday night we are encourage Trans-people, Queers, Womyn, Sex workers,
and allies who are Pro-ALL Womyn and Womyn's spaces to join us for a
Speak-Out, Show and Dance party at the doors of Celebrate the Night. Come
with music, poetry, speeches and anything you wish to share.

What the fuck??? If people don't want to be around trans why do you want to force yourself on them. Not everybody wants to hobnob with perverts.
